Ray's Jazz: Ayetoro

Led by Nigerian pianist/composer Funsho Ogundipe, Ayetoro is at the cutting edge of afrobeat and free jazz. The band, which has featured a mix of international and British based talent including Byron Wallen, Shabaka Hutchings and Ayo Odia, ranks among its influences Fela Kuti, Miles Davis and Sun Ra.
Having released five critically acclaimed albums of complex yet playful afro free jazz, Ayetoro are also a formidable live act. For this one hour concert the band will perform material from Asoju Oba/Esoterica Galactica, their new vinyl and digital album (which features afrobeat Drum legend Tony Allen) as a selection of new material.
