CANCELLED A Celebration of Bond with Susan Hill, Alan Judd and Kate Grimond
SORRY, THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED DUE TO UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES
Ian Fleming's travels, interests and wartime experience gave authority to everything he wrote and his Bond books have sold more than 60 million copies worldwide. The books are also the inspiration behind the world's longest-running film franchise, which first hit the big screen fifty years ago in October 1962, starring Sean Connery as 007 in Dr No.
Susan Hill author of the bestselling Simon Serraillier crime novels A Question of Identity and The Woman in Black will discuss Ian Fleming's work and her love of the Bond books with Fleming's niece Kate Grimond and acclaimed novelist and biographer Alan Judd, who has previously served in the army and the Foreign Office.
The discussion will be chaired by writer and journalist Barry Forshaw, whose books include British Crime Writing: An Encyclopaedia and The Rough Guide to Crime Fiction.
The event will also include a Bond-themed quiz and the chance to win all 14 Bond books, which have recently been republished by Vintage Classics. The quiz is masterminded by Jon Gilbert, the foremost expert on the works of Ian Fleming and author of Ian Fleming: The Bibliography
Venue: the Gallery at Foyles, Third Floor, 113 - 119 Charing Road, London WC2H 0EB
