Cara Hoffman was inspired to write Be Safe I Love You, a novel about a female soldier returning home from Iraq, by her own brother's troubled return home after two tours of duty in Afghanistan. She talks about the lives of military families, the bond between siblings, trauma and resilience and the possibility of healing.
