Return of a King: The Battle for Afghanistan with William Dalrymple

Monday 16th June 2014 7:30pm - 8:30pm 107 Charing Cross Road Literary Event, Chargeable Event

Prize-winning and bestselling historian William Dalrymple returns to discuss his dazzling new book. Return of a King is a history which resonates with contemporary politics and reads like a richly drawn novel. Using previously undiscovered Afghan sources, here for the first time is the full picture of Britain's disastrous 19th-century adventure in Afghanistan, which asks: have we learnt anything from history?
