An EFG Gramophone Conversation with Stephen Hough
Join us for another fantastic EFG Gramophone conversation as we welcome pianist and composer Stephen Hough to Foyles for an evening of music and discussion.
Widely considered one of today's key practitioners, Hough has appeared both as soloist and musician with the world's major orchestras, as well as having performed as chamber musician with fellow heavyweights like Steven Isserlis, Joshua Bell and the Takacs Quartet. Famed for his technique, for his breathtaking performances as pianist, Hough is also fast gaining a reputation as a composer -- for solo piano, chamber, choral and symphony.
A renaissance man for our times, Hough is also a prolific writer, a visiting professor at the Royal Academy of Music and International Chair of Piano Studies at the Royal Northern College in Manchester. Recipient of numerous accolades, Hough is the recipient of eight Gramophone awards and, in 2014, a CBE for his services to music in the New Year's Honours List.
Come along for an evening of performance and conversation with a master pianist and modern polymath, as he details the overlapping worlds of performance and composition.
