After captivating performances of Strauss, Wagner and Britten, we are delighted to welcome acclaimed pianist Robert Hunter back to the Gallery as he teams up with Iwona Boesche, former leader of the Krakow Radio Symphony Orchestra. In this lunchtime recital the duo present a selection of dazzling works by 19th-century Polish composer Henryk Wieniawski, whose work Iwona is currently embarked on a project to bring to a wider audience. Completing the programme is Debussy's Violin Sonata, the final piece the composer wrote before his death in 1918.

Robert has performed across the UK and Ireland. He also appears frequently as a guest pianist aboard many P&O and Cunard cruise ships, giving series of solo recitals. In 2002 he performed with Opera Etcetera as a part of the Opera Holland Park festival in London, exploring rare instrumental music by operatic composers. His performance of Donizetti's first sonata at this concert was released on CD and later broadcast on Classic FM. In 2006 Robert embarked on a tour of the UK and Ireland performing solo and chamber music with the Botton Eurhythmy Ensemble.

Iwona Boesche has performed as a soloist in recitals and with Polish, German and English orchestras. Before coming to London in 1996, she trained with Kaja Danczowska in Krakow, where she won the Yamaha Scholarship awarded to the best violin student in Poland, and a scholarship awarded by the Polish Ministry of Culture and Arts.
She went on to study at the Royal College of Music. In 1994, she was appointed leader of the Krakow Radio Symphony Orchestra. Between 2007 and 2010, she was leader of the London Gay Symphony Orchestra and has performed with the orchestra as a soloist. Iwona's wide repertoire extends from the baroque to contemporary - including premieres of British and Polish works - as well as standard jazz repertoire.
