A close look into contemporary Mexican literature: Eloy Urroz

Tuesday 9th November 2010 - 6:30pm 107 Charing Cross Road Literary Event

A new generation of Latin American writers faces a unique challenge in the aftermath of magical realism, with shoes almost too big to fill. Yet contemporary author Eloy Urroz, alongside such others as Jorge Volpi and Ignacio Padilla, have been forging a new movement, and causing quite a stir, particularly in the Mexican literary scene. In an extremely rare UK appearance, Eloy Urroz discusses his latest novel Friction, and the changing currents in contemporary Mexican writing.
