Stephen Moss and Michael Allen - Nature Tales: The Golden Age of Nature Writing

Monday 29th November 2010 - 6:30pm 107 Charing Cross Road Literary Event, Free Event

From Nick Baker diving with basking sharks off the Cornish coast to J.A. Baker's vivid descriptions of peregrines in the Essex countryside, Gilbert White's observations at Selborne 300 years ago to Sir John Lister-Kaye tracking deer in a Scottish woodland, Nature Tales is a charming celebration of Britain's wildlife and countryside. This evening, author Michael Allen and contributor Stephen Moss join us to discuss the history of nature writing from Coleridge to Richard Mabey, and its particular importance in this age of increasing environmental challenges.
