Bookshop Barnie - Martin Sixsmith on Russia: A 1,000-year Chronicle of the Wild East

Martin was the BBC Moscow correspondent for almost twenty years and his new book explores Russia's story from its foundation to its modern incarnation. Covering politics, music, literature and art, it accompanies the BBC's 50-part Radio 4 series, which marks the 20th anniversary of the dissolution of the USSR.

This special Bookshop Barnie is held in association with the British Council as part of the Russia-themed London Book Fair 2011 held on the 50thanniversary of Yuri Gagarin's becoming the first man in space.
