Foyles White City Book Club - Such a Long Journey

Tuesday 24th July 2012 7:30pm - 8:30pm Westfield White City, Foyles Unit 2054, Westfield, White City, London, W12 7GE Literary Event, Free Event

This month, we will be discussing Such a Long Journey by Rohiton Mistry. It's the story of an Indian bank clerk in 1970s Mumbai who slowly sees his life unravel around him: his daughter falls ill, his son defies his expectations for him, and a letter from an old friend that first seems to offer some hope eventually leads to fraud and betrayal. Set against the backdrop of Indira Gandhi's leadership, this family drama has the epic sweep of a 19th-century novel.

If you'd like to attend or if you have any questions, please contact Adam at adam.howard@foyles.co.uk or Rebecca at rebecca.cameron@foyles.co.uk.

Next month: A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole
