Samuel Johnson Prize - Shortlist Event with Robert MacFarlane & Sue Prideaux

Wednesday 17th October 2012 6:30pm - 7:30pm 107 Charing Cross Road Literary Event, Free Event

Join us for a fascinating and diverse evening of discussion as a panel of authors shortlisted for this year's Samuel Johnson Prize for Non-Fiction talk about their books.
Confirmed speakers include shortlisted authors Robert MacFarlane (The Old Ways), Paul Preston (The Spanish Holocaust) and Sue Prideaux (Strindberg: A Life).
The evening will be chaired by Science Museum executive, author and Daily Telegraph columnist, Roger Highfield.
The Samuel Johnson Prize is the UK's leading non-fiction prize, founded with the statement, 'All the best stories are true'.
Previous winners have tackled topics as diverse as life in Kim John-Il's North Korea (Barbara Demick's Nothing to Envy), a real-life Victorian murder mystery (Kate Summerscale's The Suspicions of Mr Whicher) and humanity's ancient fascination with the whale (Philip Hoare's Leviathan).
