Alexandre Tharaud – Artist Spotlight: Introducing his new Virgin Classics album Le Boeuf sur le Toit

Famed for his dazzling interpretations of Rameau, Bach, Scarlatti and Chopin, Alexandre Thauraud's latest project represents a radical departure for the French pianist. Le Boeuf sur le Toit is named after - and celebrates - the legendary Paris cabaret, frequented by Jean Cocteau, Maurice Ravel, Erik Satie and Sergei Diaghilev, which was at the heart of cultural and musical life in the city.
At this special event the internationally renowned pianist brings a taste of 1920s Paris to the Gallery at Foyles as he performs an intimate recital and discusses the heady times and incredible characters that inspired his new Virgin Classics CD.
