CANCELLED Kathleen Ferrier Centenary Event with Christopher Fifield & Lucy Stevens

Wednesday 12th December 2012 6:30pm - 8pm 107 Charing Cross Road Literary Event, Free Event

SORRY, THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES Tonight we mark the centenary year of the great English lyric contralto Kathleen Ferrier with the editor of her Letters and Diaries, Dr Christopher Fifield, as he traces her life and work and discusses her unmistakable voice. As well as telling the story of her remarkable 10-year career, Ferrier's Letters and Diaries shine a light on music-making during the dark days of the war and its austere aftermath. The talk will be interspersed with readings of the letters by actor and singer Lucy Stevens, fresh from playing the legendary singer on stage in Whattalife!
Do come early and enjoy a complimentary glass of wine or soft drink.
Christopher Fifield
Venue: the Gallery at Foyles.
