Artist Fran Giffard has long been captivated by the beauty of natural illustrations and over the last two years she has created an incredible body of artwork focusing on exotic and commonplace birds. Fran started to work directly in her personal diaries using aquarelle, gouache and graphite pencil, capturing the wonder of the ornithological world. The result is a vivid collection of work with an intriguing personal slant. This selection has pieces from her diary page drawings, as well as from the series 'One of Every Species of Bird found in Hong Kong' and 'O for Ornithology'.
