Laydeez Do Comics with Dr Muna Al-Jawad, John Miers and David Jesus Vignolli
Since its launch in 2009 by Nicola Streeten and Sarah Lightman, Laydeez Do Comics has been the UK's leading women-led graphic novel forum. Its focus is on domestic and autobiographical narratives and the drama of the everyday, and its social evenings provide a friendly and inspiring atmosphere for emerging artists and established practitioners to test new works and ideas.
This evening's guest speakers will be Dr Muna Al-Jawad, Consultant in Elderly Medicine and comics artist and co-organiser of the 4th International Comics and Medicine Conference, and the artists John Mier and David Jesus Vignolli.
All are welcome - men and women, those with no knowledge of comics and those already immersed. Wine, beer and home-baked cakes are served too!
Venue: the Gallery at Foyles, 113 - 119 Charing Cross Road, London WC2H 0EB
Tickets: Free. Please visit www.laydeezdocomics.com to reserve a place.
