BOOK LAUNCH - Amanda James: A Stitch in Time

Wednesday 10th April 2013 6:30pm - 8pm Bristol, Foyles, 6 Quakers Friars, Cabot Circus, Bristol, BS1 3BU Literary Event, Free Event

Amanda James is a Bristol-based author, who left a teaching career last year to write her debut novel with award-winning publishers, Choc-Lit. A Stitch in Time is a historical romance set in the present day, exploring serious issues alongside a healthy dose of romantic comedy - and time travel to the Blitz in 1940s Sheffield and the nineteenth century American West.

Using her teaching experience and her childhood memories growing up in Sheffield, and channelling a passion for writing that has followed her throughout her life, Amanda tells the story of Sarah Yates, a thirty-something history teacher, divorced, disillusioned and desperate to have more excitement in her life. Making all her dreams come true seems about as likely as climbing Everest in stilettos. Then one evening the doorbell rings and the handsome and mysterious John Needler brings more excitement than Sarah could ever have imagined. John wants Sarah to go back in time ...

Sarah is whisked from the Sheffield Blitz to the suffragette movement in London to the Old American West, trying to make sure people find their happy endings. The only question is, will she ever be able to find hers?

Join Amanda as she celebrates the launch of her novel at Foyles - this event is free and there is no need to book, just turn up! Free refreshments will be served.
