The Bookshop Band Live

Thursday 4th July 2013 6:30pm - 7:30pm 107 Charing Cross Road Literary Event, Music Event, Chargeable Event

Words and music are rarely more joyfully combined than in the songs and performances of the Bookshop Band. Originally formed to create bespoke musical accompaniment to author events, the band went on to amass an extensive songbook, inspired by books as diverse as China Miéville's Embassytown, Edmund De Waal's The Hare with the Amber Eyes and Andrey Kurkov's Death and the Penguin.
When we found out that this uniquely literary musical trio were embarking on a UK bookshop tour we simply couldn't pass up the opportunity to invite them to play on the stage in our Café - and happily they said yes. Readers and music-lovers alike are cordially invited to join the fabulously talented Ben Please, Beth Porter and Poppy Pitt as they perform some of their favourite songs - we're sure you'll love the music and, who knows, it may even inspire some new literary passions.

Venue: the Cafe at Foyles
Tickets: Free; no need to book, just come along.
