David Gordon Trio

Wednesday 12th June 2013 6pm - 7pm 107 Charing Cross Road Ray's Jazz Event, Free Event

Presenting their new album The David Gordon Trio Speaks Latin, David Gordon's band are out to prove that Latin jazz is more than just salsa and bossa nova. The trio offers a unique and personal image of South America, drawing both on popular music from that continent and songs which capture the revolutionary spirit of the '60s and '70s. Particularly featured are the trio's uniquely crafted treatments of songs of Simón Díaz and Victor Jara, the music of piano masters Horacio Salgán, Egberto Gismont and Chick Corea, together with the trio's own Latin-inspired compositions such as David Gordon's 'Second Language'.

Line-up:

David Gordon :: Piano
Jonty Fisher :: Double Bass
Paul Cavaciuti :: Drums

Venue: the Café at Foyles Charing Cross Road
Tickets: Free, no need to book, just come along!
