George Orwell 110th Anniversary Exhibition

Tuesday 11th June 2013 9am - Tuesday 9th July 2013 12:18 Midnight 107 Charing Cross Road Exhibition, Free Event

As we prepare for our own 110th anniversary celebrations here at Foyles, we will also be commemorating the birth of one of Britain's most distinctive authors. George Orwell was born on the 25th of June 1903, and to mark the occasion we have joined forces with Penguin Classics to curate a photographic exhibition chronicling the writer's life and work. With images hand selected by the Orwell Archive at University College London, the show presents familiar photos alongside lesser-known personal images and documents. There will also be the chance to see a selection of vintage cover designs from Penguin's publishing archive.

To accompany the exhibition, Foyles Charing Cross Road store will be featuring a display of the latest editions from Penguin's newly-re-issued Orwell collection in our ground floor Fiction department.-

Venue
The Café at Foyles, First Floor, Charing Cross Road

Opening hours
Monday - Saturday: 9am - 9pm; Sunday 10am - 6pm

Please note that the Café may be closed when instore events are taking place. In addition, viewing of the work may be restricted due to the layout of the Café
