When Chris Hadfield, Commander of the 35th Expedition to the International Space Station (where he famously performed Space Oddity by David Bowie), came to Foyles in January to sign An Astronaut's Guide to Life, his reflections on life up in space and down on Earth, he attracted one of the biggest crowds we've ever had.
So we are thrilled to announce that he's coming back, to share the stories behind many of the breath-taking photographs he took while in orbit, now collected in his stunning new book,You Are Here: Around the World in 92 Minutes. There will be an audio-visual presentation, followed by an audience question-and-answer session.
After the event, at 8.15pm, Chris will be available to sign copies of his book. All those who are attending Chris's talk will have automatic entrance to the signing queue and will be entered into our competition - see below.
Venue: The Auditorium at Foyles, Level 6, 107 Charing Cross Road
Tickets: SORRY - SOLD OUT! You can still reserve a place for the signing afterwards - see below
Priority Signing Queue
SIGNING QUEUE NOW ALSO SOLD OUT!
Booking a place in the Priority Signing Queue does NOT grant entry to the talk earlier in the evening.
Everyone in the Priority Signing Queue who arrives by 7.45pm, including those attending the talk beforehand, will automatically be entered into our competition to win:
- A signed, limited edition long-sleeved top featuring the Expedition 35 logo
- A very special guitar pick created exclusively for the flight
- A signed photo taken by Chris in space
The winner will be announced at the start of the signing, at 8.15pm.
Please note that, owing to limited time and to allow as many people as possible to meet him, Chris won't be able to provide dedications or pose for photographs. Unfortunately, we are also unable to take requests for signed copies from anyone not attending, again because of time constraints.
