An Ode to A Rebours: A Multi-Sensory Exploration of Contemporary Design & Master-Craftsmanship

Tuesday 25th November 2014 9:30am - Friday 23rd January 2015 9pm 107 Charing Cross Road Exhibition, Free Event

FuturecityIn Huysman's iconic novel Against Nature, a decadent aristocrat indulges his taste for luxury and excess, gorging his aesthetic appetites with exotic jewels, rich perfumes and sensual experiences.

Taking this as a cue, the third Futurecity-curated exhibition at the Gallery at Foyles showcases the work of eleven leading makers/designers:

  • Shaun Leane
  • Timorous Beasties
  • Fabien Cappello
  • Tom Price
  • Studio Glithero
  • Studio Swine
  • Jason Marks
  • Leigh Cameron
  • Emma Yeo (see image)
  • Peter Saville for Dovecot Studios
  • Alice Cicolini

Co-curated by Alice Cicolini, designer, commissioner and published author; and Mark Davy, Founder of Futurecity, this highly unconventional exhibition showcases master craftmanship and design structured through the commissioning of a unique collaboration with sensory branding agency Vetyver.
