David Amram: Pull My Daisy
Award-winning composer, conductor and author David Amram joins us to celebrate the launch of his new 5CD album David Amram's Classic American Film Scores 1956-2016 with an evening of performance and conversation.
In a career spanning six decades, Amram has established himself as one of the world's pre-eminent composers and performers, having worked with such bright lights as Dizzy Gillespie, Charles Mingus, Leonard Bernstein and Bob Dylan. Playing alongside his son Adam, Amram visits the Auditorium at Foyles to play a selection from his classic film and Broadway scores—which include The Manchurian Candidate, Splendor in the Grass, The Young Savages—and of course Pull My Daisy.
Also talking about his life and work, Amram goes behind the scenes of his incredible career with a Q&A session, before signing copies of his album and books.
