Han Kang: Human Acts, in conversation with Philippe Sands
We are delighted to welcome internationally acclaimed writer Han Kang to talk about her exceptionally powerful novel, Human Acts. Already a controversial bestseller and award winner in Korea, Human Acts explores trauma, reconciliation and the soul of a country as Han points her penetrating literary talents to the violent suppression of the 1980 student uprisings in Gwangju, and the unending personal and political effect it had on the nation. She is also the author of The Vegetarian, a surreal tale of transformation, that has been one of Foyles' bestselling titles in translation in 2015.
Our chairperson for the evening will be Philippe Sands, best-selling author and international lawyer.
Join us for an evening of provocative and bold conversation that guarantees to shock and inspire. This discussion, set to be one of the most sensational of the season, will be followed by an opportunity to get your books signed.
