Coffee Tasting with Extract Coffee

Thursday 12th May 2016 6:30pm - 8pm Cabot Circus, Bristol Free Event

SORRY, THIS EVENT IS NOW FULLY BOOKED. Learn the meticulous art of coffee tasting (otherwise known as ‘cupping’) with one of the UK’s leading coffee companies and Foyles’ coffee supplier, Extract Coffee.

Extract Coffee Roasters began life as a family business with one simple aim - to produce and serve great coffee. Since its early days, selling home-roasted coffee from a cart on Bristol’s iconic College Green, it has come a long way to become one of the UK’s leading coffee companies. To this day, the tradition of ‘cupping’ is still very much at the core of everything they do.

'Cupping' is the universal process used for tasting and testing coffee and is used on farms, wet mills, processing and grading centres, exporters, importers, roasters and sometimes even cafés. It is a very similar process to wine tasting and involves swilling the drink around your mouth to experience the full flavour.

During this coffee tasting workshop, Extract will guide us through the process of ‘cupping’, exploring its history and culture, whilst teaching us how to detect different tastes in the coffee and most importantly, how to know when a coffee is of high quality or not.

So join us for an entertaining and enlightening evening and taste lots of great coffee!
