Sceptre Salon: Water with Chris Cleave, Clare Morrall and Tristan Gooley

Monday 18th April 2016 7pm - 8pm 107 Charing Cross Road Literary Event, Free Event

To celebrate 30 years of inspired publishing from Sceptre, this summer we are hosting a series of salons bringing great authors together in a new and engaging way, discussing subjects recurrent in their work and close to their heart.

This month Chris Cleave, Clare Morrall and Tristan Gooley will be in conversation looking at the value of water. With floods, sieges, and droughts constantly making headlines, water has never been more valuable, nor more important, than it is now.

Chris Cleave is the award-winning author of such novels as Gold, Incendiary, and The Other Hand. His latest novel, Everyone Brave is Forgiven, is published 21 April by Sceptre.

Clare Morrall is the author of the Booker-shortlisted Astonishing Splashes of Colour, as well as five other novels. Her latest, When the Floods Came, imagines a dystopian future Britain ravaged by floods.

Tristan Gooley is a navigator and explorer whose natire writing has inspired a renaissance in the art of natural navigation. In his new book, How to Read Water, shares knowledge, skills, tips and useful observations to help you enjoy the watery landscape around you.

The event will be chaired by Hannah Beckerman, journalist and author of The Dead Wife's Handbook.

To celebrate Sceptre's 30th anniversary and this inaugural salon in the series, this event is absolutely free and will include complementary wine and pizza upon entry.
