Join us for a conversation between three key figures in British feminism, Laura Bates, Hibo Wardere and Leyla Hussein.
Laura Bates is the author of Everyday Sexism, an extension of her Everyday Sexism Project that sought to expose the hypocrisies and microaggressions that women encounter in their daily lives and empower them to take action against it. Her new book, Girl Up, is part manifestio, part girl guide, exploring vital points about sex, body image, pornography, relationships, social media, feminism and more.
Hibo Wardere is the campaigner and author of Cut, a powerful memoir and polemic in which she describes her own experience of undergoing female genital mutilation in order to expose FGM as the very British problem it is: the UK has seen 3000 FGM cases in hospitals in the past few months.
Together they will be discussing the large and small issues facing woman today and engaging women of all ages to take action in what promises to be a vital and engaging evening.
Laura & Hibo will be in conversation with pychotherapist and lead anti-FGM gender rights campaigner Leyla Hussein.
