Violinist William Newell graduated with a BMus in 2015 from the Guildhall School, where he is currently studying for Masters degree under Krysia Osostowicz. He has performed in venues as varied as the Forbidden City in Beijing, the Edinburgh Festival, and many major London concert halls.
As a member of the Endräkt String Quartet, he performs regularly across London and has played in masterclasses for András Keller. In April 2016, the quartet travelled to Warsaw to perform at a meeting of the European Music Teachers’ Association. His piano trio, the Solaris Trio, were winners of St James’s Piccadilly Prize at the Guildhall School in 2015.
William’s commitment to contemporary music has meant he has been invited to lead ensembles including Shadwell Opera, WorkshOpera (including performances at the Tête à Tête festival) and the Guildhall Ubu Ensemble, performing John Adams’ mighty Chamber Symphony in the presence of the composer. He is also a member of the contemporary-improvisatory group White Flower who have performed in a variety of venues including the Vortex Jazz Club. In the world of pop music, he has recorded with bands including Eliza and the Bear and featured on Radio One’s Live Lounge with We Are The Ocean.
Robert Hunter has performed across the UK and Ireland, including several major concert venues in London. In 2002 Robert performed with Opera Etcetera as a part of the Opera Holland Park festival in London exploring rare instrumental music by operatic composers, whjere his performance of Donizetti's first sonata at this concert was released on CD and later broadcast on Classic FM. In 2006 Robert embarked on a tour of the UK and Europe performing solo and chamber music with the Botton Eurhythmy Ensemble. Last year Robert performed with internationally acclaimed violinist, Arabella Steinbacher at a promotional event to launch her new recording of Mendelssohn and Tchaikovsky Concertos. He currently holds the posts of Head of Piano at Forest School, East London, and teacher of piano and chamber music at Junior Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music, London.
