Getting Published: Q&A with Mantle and Pan Macmillan Publishing

Wednesday 22nd February 2017 7pm - 8pm 107 Charing Cross Road Literary Event, Chargeable Event

‘We have no conviction (and I’m sure none of the other directors would have) that this is the right point of view from which to criticise the political situation at present time…  After all, your pigs are far more intelligent than the other animals, and the best qualified to run the farm’

-    T.S Eliot to George Orwell on rejection of Animal Farm

Calling all budding authors!  Getting published for the first time can be rough, even for the likes of Orwell. If you’re struggling to get your book under the nose of an editor, or if you’ve got an idea that you just can’t get down on paper, or even if you suffer from writers block, this is your chance to get some inside tips from two of the most revered editors in the business.

Join Publisher Maria Rejt and Associate Publisher Sam Humphreys from Mantle, an imprint under Macmillan, who champion such names as C.J.Sansom, Joanna Trollope and Kate Mosse, to discuss the highs and lows of their careers, the authors they’re most proud of and the ones who got away.

From getting contracted to an agent to nailing that opening hook, Maria and Sam will also be answering your most burning questions in an open discussion to help you on your way to becoming a published author.

Chairing the event will be literary journalist Suzi Feay.

Come along for this exclusive Q&A session, learn from the best in the business and who knows? You might well be the next bestseller.

Please note, no physical tickets will be issued (to save the trees!), the email confirmation you receive is proof of your booking.

We are unable to issue refunds to customers unable to attend the event without at least 24 hours' notice. To request a refund of your ticket purchase or purchases, email with your details and request.
