Ray's Jazz: Digby Fairweather

Digby Fairweather has been a professional jazz musician since l977 and HAS recorded over seventy albums as both leader and sideman. Since l995 he has led his award-winning Half-Dozen which won the British Jazz Award for 'Top Small Group for the Last Ten Years in 2015.


Between 1986 and 1998, Digby broadcast widely on jazz for the BBC and Jazz FM, before returning to full time playing. Over the years he has won the British Jazz Awards for trumpet in l992 and Services to Jazz in l993 and 2015. Digby has been called 'just about the best Ambassador British jazz could have’ (Michael Dynan, The Stage) and in 2013 he received the Worshipful Company of Musicians’ ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’.

Venue: The Auditorium at Foyles, Level 6, 107 Charing Cross Road
