Sara Pascoe in conversation with Viv Groskop – Animal: The Autobiography of a Female Body

Tuesday 3rd May 2016 6pm - 8pm 107 Charing Cross Road Literary Event, Chargeable Event

Comedian Sara Pascoe joins us for an intimate evening of conversation discussing her new book Animal: The Autobiography of a Female Body with fellow comedian and writer Viv Groskop.

In Sara's comedy she has always joked about feminism and female sexuality, and her first book Animal: The Autobiography of a Female Body tackles these issue head-on. Combining autobiography and evolutionary history, Sara traces modern day attitudes toward the female body back to their roots, discussing issues such as history's many eras of misunderstanding of the female orgasm, the discovery and subsequent forgetting of the clitoris, and the unusual origin story of the age of consent. The result is a book that is both entertaining and informative, silly and serious, and as personal as it is universal.

Sara will be joined Viv Groskop, whose writing on arts and culture shares many of Sara's interests, for an in-depth discussion, after which there'll be a chance for the audience to ask questions of their own.

The price of your ticket will include a copy of Animal: The Autobiography of a Female Body, available at this event two days before its general release, and Sara will be signing copies after the event.

Venue: The Auditorium at Foyles, Level 6, 107 Charing Cross Road
Tickets: £16 including a copy of the book
