Summer Women’s Fiction Wine and Cheese Evening

Wednesday 20th July 2016 6:30pm - 8pm Grand Central Birmingham Literary Event, Free Event

Summer is almost here and it’s time to find your pool-side read.

We invite you to celebrate brilliant female writing and enjoy good wine and delicious cheese with this fiction reception evening.

We will be joined by three hugely talented female writers, Sheila O’Flanagan, Victoria Walters and Jo Thomas who will introduce their works, give short readings and answer all your burning questions about fiction writing. After their short talks, there will be the opportunity to meet the authors and mingle.

Sheila O'Flanagan is the author of many bestselling novels including My Mother's Secret, If You Were Me, Someone Special and Bad Behaviour. She worked in finance for several years, but always dreamed of writing fiction, and she is now a full-time writer, with over twenty bestselling novels published.

Victoria Walters has always loved creating stories. Her first book was handwritten when she was sixteen years old, and was closely modelled on the Sweet Valley High series. Victoria studied sociology at Warwick University and has since worked for a business publisher and as a bookseller. This is her first novel.

Jo Thomas worked for many years as a reporter and producer, first for BBC Radio 5, before moving on to Radio 2's The Steve Wright Show. In 2013 Jo won the RNA Katie Fforde Bursary. Her debut novel, The Oyster Catcher, was a runaway bestseller in ebook and was awarded the 2014 RNA Joan Hessayon Award and the 2014 Festival of Romance Best Ebook Award.

Join us for this mid-week treat and celebrate female writing at its finest.

Venue: Foyles, Grand Central Birmingham, B2 4BF
