YA Reception with C.J. Flood, Clare Furniss and Sara Barnard

Saturday 17th September 2016 6:30pm - 8pm Cabot Circus, Bristol Literary Event, Free Event

Celebrate established teen writing as well as being at the forefront of new fiction with our first YA Reception in Bristol, featuring bestselling authors C.J. Flood, Clare Furniss and Sara Barnard. These talented authors will be discussing their writing, key teen issues and the importance of YA fiction.

Clare Furniss’s touching début novel, The Year of The Rat, captured the hearts of authors, bloggers and critics alike and was a Radio 2 Bookclub pick. Now she is taking us on an unforgettable journey with her stunning new YA novel, How Not to Disappear.

Debut author, C.J.Flood’s writing depicts that of Patrick Ness, Meg Rosff and David Almond and really is one to watch. Her second book, Nightwanderers is an evocative story exploring the themes of all-consuming friendship, coming of age and troubled families.

Sara Barnard has been writing ever since she was too small to reach the ‘on’ switch on the family Amstrad computer. Her powerful first YA novel, Beautiful Broken Things explores the course of friendship and recovery, and the necessity for a little bit of trouble!

The evening will start with a short introduction and reading by each writer followed by the opportunity to ask these authors any burning questions about YA and writing in general as well as the chance to meet and mingle with like-minded people.

So come along to meet these talented writers, buy these wonderful books and get them signed whilst enjoying some complimentary refreshments.
