FAQ
I'm from a UK school/college; can we be sent books with an invoice?
Yes! Schools and colleges in the United Kingdom simply need to supply us with an official purchase order for the books they require and we can use this to set up the account. If you want to find out book prices and availability you are very welcome to contact us in advance of an order and we'll check both.
I need to order books for my business, how do I open a credit account?
It's easy, email us at the address above and we will send you an account application form. Once completed and returned to us we will contact you with account details or request further information if required.
Can I send you a list of the books I'm after first?
Please do, book lists are the first point of contact for many new customers. You can fax or email these (preferably with the ISBN, title and author if possible) to +44 (0) 207 434 1580 or danni@foyles.co.uk.
I represent a school/ business from outside the UK, can I open a credit account and be sent orders with an invoice?
Credit facilities are not currently available for new customers outside the UK. However, we regularly produce quotes and pro-forma invoices for international customers. We request payment in advance for these transactions either by wire transfer, credit card, money order or cheque in UK Sterling. Orders are dispatched once payment has been received.
Can I get a discount?
Good question, we always aim to give discounts on bulk orders (normally 30 copies or over) of individual titles and negotiate with publishers to make this possible. If you are ordering a number of different titles then please ask us if a discount is available and we'll make an honest appraisal straight away.
How long does it take to give me a quote?
It depends on the size of your booklist but we always try to get back to you within 48 hours.
How long does it take to receive an order?
• If the books are all in stock at Foyles we can dispatch the same day, provided an account has been set up or payment details have been confirmed.
• If books need to be ordered from a publisher in the UK it normally takes between one to two weeks before the order is dispatched. Publisher distribution and supply can vary widely, however.
• If a book needs to be ordered from the USA or elsewhere, or if it's a 'Print-on-demand' title, it normally takes 3-4 weeks for the order to be dispatched.
• International delivery by courier normally takes one week from dispatch from Foyles. Airmail delivery normally takes 2-3 weeks, but can take longer to Asia. Special air or sea-freight shipments will vary and estimates can be provided.
Where can you send books and how much will it cost?
• We send books to almost everywhere in the world. We guarantee delivery by courier, but also offer airmail, and for large orders can arrange air and sea freight or road transport within Europe.
• Postage costs can be found here. However, for larger orders both in the UK and internationally we'll provide you with a quote depending on the size and weight.
Can you provide anything apart from books?
We supply medical instruments, sheet music and, internationally, can provide large scale educational materials orders. We do not supply DVDs or fitness equipment.
Are you interested in tenders for book supply contracts?
Yes we are, we have fulfilled government tenders in Britain and abroad and actively seek new opportunities around the world.
Who can apply for a Medical Account?
Medical Account customers are some of our most highly valued clients. We can open credit accounts for individual doctors as well as clinics, surgeries and group practices plus hospital departments. Please contact us direct for an application form or to arrange an order or quotation. Prices may differ from online-ordering but please check with us to confirm.
