Elaine Franks Limited Edition Natural History Prints

Foyles are delighted to have available for sale online and at Charing Cross Road a wonderful collection of limited edition natural history prints by Elaine Franks, 'One of our most talented and up and coming wildlife artists' (Sir David Attenborough).

At four years old, Elaine Franks started to paint and draw the natural world, a passion that has continued to develop to the present day. As a student, a move to Devon introduced her to The Undercliff, a unique SSSI on the Devon/Dorset coast, where she was to work as a volunteer recorder for two years, the results of her research being published as The Undercliff by JM Dent. This was to be the first of some 20 or so published titles that she has worked on, including West Country Wildlife with well known naturalist and author Kelvin Boot, and Watching Wildlife with author and journalist Geoffrey Young, the founder of WATCH.

For many years now, Elaine has been living and working in rural mid Wales, in the heart of Red Kite country, where she spent much of her childhood. She has made a number of television appearances, and her artwork has been exhibited in London and throughout Britain.

Current work includes paintings from areas of developing biodiversity at the Centre for Alternative Technology, Machynlleth, and from Moelyci, an exciting and internationally significant SSSI near Bangor.
