Our nursery rhymes collection ranges from vintage-styled hardbacks great as gifts for new parents, to much more child-friendly rhyme and songbooks that come with CDs.
Our nursery corner comprises an extensive list of board books, baby-learning books and activity books for the under 5s. We also stock a great range of education workbooks for pre-school years.
Our Picture Books are our pride and joy and we have worked hard to develop a range to be proud of. In this section you will find a huge selection of classic backlist titles as well as new titles and titles from new and emerging authors and illustrators. As well as books, the children's department is also home to a tank of piranha fish!
Our reading schemes area contains every kind of resource you might need to get your child reading. We stock schemes from Oxford, Usborne and Collins as well as Dr Seuss and Ladybird, plus flashcards and phonics books with CDs and DVDs.
Our young fiction section (aimed at readers aged 9-12) is well stocked with a vast range of titles, which include entire collections of popular series such as The Chronicles of Narnia, Percy Jackson and Harry Potter as well as new and backlist titles from popular authors such as Michael Morpurgo, Jacqueline Wilson and Diana Wynne Jones. We stock great classics like Brian Jacques' Redwall series and both hardback and paperback versions of Arthur Ransome's novels for children.
Our Young Adult section includes historical fiction, science-fiction and fantasy, urban thriller, humour, dystopian fiction, romance, drama and glbt genres for teens. We also stock a selection of US titles ahead of any UK releases and also signed first editions of the newest titles. Ask for recommendations of our favourites!
Anything deliciously dark and gorgeously gothic lives in our Teen Noir section! That means vampires, werewolves, fairies, demons and angels plus all kinds of horror, urban fantasy and dark romance.
