Win tickets to see Alan Hollinghurst and Andrew Motion

Whether providing inspiration, patronage or refuge, houses have for centuries influenced the art of writing. And with poetry, essay and novels enjoying their own internal architecture, the relationship could be said to be a formal one, too.

On Monday 19th September, Writing |Houses: Dwelling on Dwelling at Kings Place sees former Poet Laureate Andrew Motion, Man Booker Prize winner (and author of the 2011 Booker longlisted The Stranger's Child) Alan Hollinghurst and Observer architecture critic and former Director of the Architecture Foundation Rowan Moore discuss the idea of houses and literature, through history and imagination, and their enduring exchange.
