Information for Authors and Publishers

Buying

If you are a publisher or a self-published author wishing to have a book considered by the Buying team for stocking at Foyles, please email submissions@foyles.co.uk with a covering letter and Advance Information sheet. Publishers should ensure that a sales rep is not already calling at Foyles. To help us, please include the subject area (eg Art, Fiction, History) in the subject line of your email.

This address should also be used for any gift or stationery items you wish us to consider.

Please do not send proofs, finished copies or any other material unless requested. We cannot return any unsolicited material.

An automatic email will be sent to you, acknowledging receipt of your submission. As we receive so many submissions, we will usually only reply if your book is of interest to us. Also for this reason, it may take up to eight weeks for us to reply.

If you would like a magazine to be considered for stocking, please contact magazines@foyles.co.uk.

Please note

  • Foyles does NOT buy second-hand (used) or antiquarian books.
  • We are a retailer, not a publisher, so we cannot help you to get your book published. We recommend From Pitch to Publication by Carole Blake for everything you need to know about getting a book published.
  • The Buying Team does not buy company services, only products for sale in our shops.

Author events

For enquiries about author events, please contact events@foyles.co.uk

Stock Signings

If your book is not currently stocked by Foyles, please see the section on Buying above. Stock signings will not be considered until the relevant buyer has decided whether or not to stock a book.

If you are an author whose book is currently stocked by Foyles instore, and not just listed as available to order on the website, and you would like to come in to sign copies (not for a public event), please contact jonathan@foyles.co.uk. For all other event-related matters, please see Author Events above.
