SORRY - FULLY BOOKED
As part of Discovery Day 2016—the free event for aspiring novelists in association with award-winning literary agents Curtis Brown and Conville & Walsh—we're hosting this afternoon panel event on the craft of writing fiction and the art of getting published.
Taking as its launching point the extraordinary journey from pen to publication of Elizabeth is Missing, last year's biggest-selling debut novel, our panel stars author Emma Healey alongside her Curtis Brown agent Karolina Sutton and publisher Venetia Butterfield. Chaired by Anna Davis, Founder and Director of Curtis Brown Creative writing school, this is a rare and unmissable opportunity to learn about the whole timeline of a bestseller, with wisdom from players at each of the key points in the process.
After the hugely successful Discovery Days held in 2012 and 2013, we're pleased to welcome back the teams from Curtis Brown and sister agency Conville & Walsh. With strong reputations for launching debut authors (including Emma Healey, S J Watson, Nathan Filer and Rachel Joyce) the agencies between them represent big names such as David Mitchell, Howard Jacobson and Sarah Hall. And Curtis Brown Creative—the agency's writing school—has seen seventeen of their students achieve major publishing deals, including Jessie Burton, Kate Hamer and Janet Ellis.
Learn more about the story behind the phenomenal Elizabeth is Missing—and then get ready to ask your own questions. Whether you want to quiz the panbel members about their own experience or ask their advice on getting your own work represented and published, this is your chance!
Please note that this event is ticketed separately from the rest of Discovery Day 2016, and booking to attend does not include access to the one-on-one agent sessions or group meetings. For full Discovery Day 2016 details and booking, click here.
