Charles Dickens Quiz Night

Tuesday 24th April 2012 6:30pm - 8:30pm 107 Charing Cross Road Literary Event, Free Event

Do you know your Pumblechooks from your Fezziwigs? We've joined forces with Londonist.com to put together a Cityread logoquiz about Charles Dickens and Victorian London. You don't need to be a Dickens scholar to do well, as many of the 50 questions are guessable, even if your appreciation for the novelist rarely extends beyond The Muppets' Christmas Carol. Prizes will be awarded to the top team, and there'll be a special prize for the best Victorian fancy dress (the wearing of which is optional). Oh, and we've got Charles Dickens himself hosting the quiz. This event is in support of Cityread London.

Venue: The Cafe at Foyles, First Floor, Charing Cross Road
Tickets: Free, but need to be reserved by emailing events@foyles.co.uk
. You can enter as an individual, or as part of a team. If you're booking on behalf of a team, please let us know your expected team size (maximum five).

Earlier this year, Belgian beer culture finally officially took its rightful place on the World's Intangible Cultural Heritage list, where it now sits in good company with the likes of the French gastronomic meal, Cuban rumba and Spanish flamenco. To celebrate, here is a far from exhaustive selection of some of the beer literature that can help you better appreciate the delicate arts of brewing and drinking beer.
