Shawnie has just turned 13 and lives in Knowle West. Her mother is drunk on White Lightning, her father is in jail and it turns out that her brother, her only confidant, is not all that he seems.

This evening, one of Bristol's most distinctive voices in fiction discusses his controversial novel with Mike Manson, writer and editor at the Bristol Review of Books.
