Junko Mizuno: Comica Conversation with Jason Atomic
Moving from Tokyo to San Francisco, Junko Mizuno has become a global sensation celebrated for her unmistakable blending of cuteness, creepiness and erotica. Her incredibly strange and visually arresting manga include dark re-tellings of much-loved fairy tales including Hansel and Gretel and Cinderella as well as her surreal, two-volume graphic novel Little Fluffy Gigolo Pelu.
As well as making comics, Mizuno is a multi-media creator whose output includes posters for bands including Faith No More, Mudhoney and Swans, designer vinyl figures for KidRobot and her own versions of Spider-Man, My Little Pony and Swarovski creatures, animated titles for Jonathan Ross's Japanorama series and limited prints and paintings.
In her exclusive London speaking engagement as part of Comica Festival 2014, Mizuno will be in conversation with comics artist, publisher and curator Jason Atomic. Mizuno will also be drawing live during the event and available for signing afterward.
