Laydeez Do Comics

Monday 15th December 2014 6pm - 8:30pm 107 Charing Cross Road Literary Event, Chargeable Event

Since its launch by Nicola Streeten and Sarah Lightman in 2009, Laydeez Do Comics has been the UK's foremost women-led graphic novel forum. Its focus on domestic and autobiographical narratives and the drama of the everyday, and its social evenings provide a friendly and inspiring atmosphere for emerging artists and established practitioners to test new works and ideas. All are welcome: men and women; those with no knowledge of comics and those already immersed. Home-baked cakes are served too!

This month's speakers are:
Will Brooker - Writer and academic. Professor of film and cultural studies, Kingston University and co-creator of 'My So-Called Secret Identity'. http://mysocalledsecretidentity.com
Chris Geary - Comics artist, illustrator and designer. http://www.chrisgearyonline.com
Elena Vitagliano and Asia Alfasi - Comics artists talking about their collaborative project. http://cargocollective.com/elenavitaglian and http://asiaalfasiart.com

Venue: The Auditorium at Foyles, Level 6, 107 Charing Cross Road

Tickets available here (Laydeez Do Comics is free but welcomes a £1 donation for home-made cake!)
