Foyles Film Club: To Kill a Mockingbird
As part of our evening celebrating the publication of Harper Lee's Go Set a Watchman, we're screening the classic 1962 film adaptation of To Kill a Mockingbird.
Directed by Robert Mulligan and starring Gregory Peck, Mary Badham and Brock Peters, To Kill a Mockingbird is one of the most well-regarded adaptations in the history of cinema, time and again ranking among the best movies ever made. The winner of three Academy Awards, To Kill a Mockingbird has secured its place in viewers' hearts as a triumph of filmmaking, telling the story of down-and-out white lawyer Atticus Finch (Peck) who stands for a young black man accused of rape (Peters) in a 1930s Alabama town split by race.
Come along for drinks and snacks, a free Go Set a Watchman tote bag - and of course the classic film itself!
