The National Theatre Story with Daniel Rosenthal & Adrian Scarborough

Thursday 5th December 2013 6:30pm - 7:30pm 107 Charing Cross Road Literary Event, Free Event

Rosenthal ScarboroughIt's a year of drama for the National Theatre, a time to celebrate 50 years of history but also to anticipate the next chapter in the story, with Rufus Norris newly unveiled as Nick Hytner's successor as Director.

The National Theatre Story is the first and only authorised account of this iconic institution. Journalist and broadcaster Daniel Rosenthal has enjoyed unrestricted access to the National Theatre's archives, as well as over 100 new interviews with the likes of Alan Bennett, Judi Dench, Ian McKellen, and all four of Laurence Olivier's successors as director: Peter Hall, Richard Eyre, Trevor Nunn and Nick Hytner.

Fresh from appearing in a string of BBC documentaries on the National Theatre, Daniel will be joined by the Olivier Award-winning actor Adrian Scarborough (The King's Speech, The History Boys, Gavin & Stacey), for an illuminating discussion of half a century of drama, both on and off stage.

Venue: the Gallery at Foyles
Tickets: Free, but please reserve your place by emailing
