Michael Rosen - Good Ideas: How to be Your Child's (and Your Own) Best Teacher
We can never get enough of Michael Rosen, and happily it seems the feeling is mutual, as the broadcaster, poet, novelist and former Children's Laureate returns following his recent appearance at our Grand Opening Festival to talk about an issue very close to his heart.
Launching his new book for adults Good Ideas: How to be Your Child's (and Your Own) Best Teacher, Michael Rosen makes the case for putting play and enjoyment at the heart of a new, interdisciplinary approach to education, arguing that our penchant for discrete academic subjects limits how we see the world.
As the author of We're Going on a Bear Hunt, Michael Rosen's Sad Book and last year's Alphabetical, and writer of the 'Dear Mr. Gove' column for the Guardian, as well as a holder of a PhD in Education and numerous honorary doctorates, Michael Rosen is uniquely qualified to advise on the current state of education in the UK. This event promises a bold and insightful look at an eternally important subject.
