Simon Armitage: Walking Away

Wednesday 3rd June 2015 7pm - 8pm 107 Charing Cross Road Literary Event, Chargeable Event

As part of the celebrations to mark our first anniversary in our sparkling new home on Charing Cross Road, we welcome back Simon Armitage CBE, who performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Poetry Department last year.

In 2013, Walking Home chronicled his walk along the 265-mile Pennine Way towards the Yorkshire village where he was born, interspersed with stops for poetry readings in pubs, village halls and even living rooms.

In his new book, Walking Away, he swaps the moorland uplands of the north for the coastal fringes of the south-west, taking in historic villages, holiday resorts and windswept shorelines, bringing his poetry to local communities and tourist hotspots.

On Wednesday 3rd June, Simon will be reflecting on his journey and reading some of his poetry at Foyles Charing Cross Road.

As well as a regular ticket option, we are also offering customers the opportunity to purchase a Book & Ticket package: for just £20 you can get a ticket and collect a free copy of Walking Away upon arrival at the Auditorium (RRP £16.99).

Venue: The Auditorium, Level 6

Tickets: £8 per ticket, or £20 for a Book & Ticket package. Simply add the required number to the basket below.
Please note that no physical tickets will be issued; the email confirmation you will receive is proof of your booking.

Refunds
We are unable to issue refunds to customers unable to attend the event without at least 24 hours notice. To request a refund of your ticket purchase or purchases, email events@foyles.co.uk with your details and request.
