Ali Smith and Alan Warner: How to Be Both and Their Lips Talk of Mischief
This evening we play host to not one but two key contemporary Scottish writers, as Ali Smith and Alan Warner appear together to celebrate their new novels How to be Both and Their Lips Talk of Mischief.
The award-winning author of Hotel World, The Accidental and Girl Meets Boy, Ali Smith is rightly regarded as one of the most exciting, experimental and compassionate voices practicing today. In conversation with Alan Warner, the author of a succession of linguistically rich and inventive novels including The Stars in the Bright Sky, The Deadman's Pedal and Morvern Callar (also adapted into a film starring Samantha Morton), these two literary heavyweights will be discussing their latest work along with their careers to date.
Focusing on their shared ground exploring the limits of the novel's form, this is an opportunity to catch two writers at the very top of their game.
