London Crime Fiction

Like any great great city, London has its seamy underbelly, home to rogues and villains, thieves and murderers. Crime writers have come up with plenty of criminals whose exploits match those of real-life villains such as Jack the Ripper and the Kray twins, with police officers and private eyes separating the tell-tale clues from the red herrings to bring the perpetrators to justice.

You'll find Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's legendary Sherlock Holmes and Margery Allingham's Albert Campion amongst our favourite historical sleuths, while P D James' Adam Dalgliesh, Mark Billingham's Tom Thorne and John Mortimer's Horace Rumpole have all helped put some of fiction's most memorable modern miscreants behind bars.
