Apple boss Steve Jobs to get 2012 biography

13th April 2011

Walter Isaacson's biography of Apple chief executive officer Steve Jobs, which the author has been working on since 2009, will be published early next year.

According to the book's publisher Simon & Schuster, iSteve: The Book of Jobs, will contain revealing interviews with the Apple evangelist himself - as well as comments from family, friends, colleagues and Apple competitors.

Tracey Guest, a spokesperson for the publishing firm, said the company would not be releasing any more details about the book in the short term and neither Apple boss Jobs or author Isaacson were available for comment.

iSteve: The Book of Jobs will be the first authorised biography of the tech billionaire.

The mogul even severed ties with publisher John Wiley & Sons after it signed up an unauthorised biography back in 2005.

Commenting on Isaacson's impending book, Jonathan Karp, publisher at Simon & Schuster, said: 'This is the perfect match of subject and author, and it is certain to be a landmark book about one of the world's greatest innovators.'
