Elizabeth Taylor's possessions to tour the world

30th June 2011

A number of valuable possessions belonging to the late actress Elizabeth Taylor, including works of fine art, are to tour the world, it has been announced.

Christie's auction house confirmed that the collection of belongings, which also includes jewellery, clothing and memorabilia from the actress's many films, will be displayed in locations including London, Moscow and Dubai, before being sold in New York.

All proceeds from admission fees to view the items, as well as the final sale of the possessions, will be donated to the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation.

Marc Porter, a spokesman for Christie's, said the exhibitions will give fans of the actress the chance to learn more about her through her taste in art and jewellery.

'This collection of her many cherished possessions will bring us closer to the essence of Elizabeth Taylor's unique spirit, and promises to inspire admiration, delight and, at times, sheer wonder in all who come to see it,' he added.
